There are so many beautiful flowers available that time of year. My first
suggestion is to try to get an annual publication from Australia called
wedding flowers. It’s a beautiful book filled with mostly bouquets. It
has suggestions for every season and every colour scheme and style.
Next, I’m going by what we use here in Canada in our fall. (I believe the
Cymbidium Orchids I use for wedding work come from New Zealand. We also
get water lilies in March from there.)
For fall flowers, colour scheme is important in giving that feel. Navy is
a beautifully neutral background for any colour. Yellows, oranges and
rusts are outstanding for fall colours. You can use lilies, sunflowers,
chrysanthemums, hanging amaranthus, dahlias, iris and things like dried
wheat for a rustic look.
The world seems to get smaller year by year all flowers are available all
year round now. So you can get anything you want. Doesn’t make it any
easier to decide on anything.
That’s just one suggestion.

You should have something that makes you both happy. But, I’ve never
heard of the idea that your wedding bands must match. Men’s and women’s
jewellery tends to come in different styles, and you’ll probably want
different widths if your hands are not close in size.
My husband has a plain band that is nothing like my wedding ring. I had
a sort of a jacket made to fit around my engagement ring that would look
funny on its own. Many engagement rings come in a matched set with a
wedding band; the one that matched my engagement ring wouldn’t have
suited a man. So, I would guess it’s more common for the man’s and
woman’s wedding rings *not* to match — or to match accidentally,
because both happened to choose the simplest and most classic option.
Would it be enough for you if you had your rings identically engraved?

There are some really gorgeous wedding bands that are gold with silver
designs in them. What about that? That way, you have the gold band and
he has the silver to tie in with his watch? Or what about white gold?
Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Well, I know most of you will probably tell me to "relax," but this
really bothers me
Ever since I was old enough to know the meaning & symbolism behind a
wedding band, I’ve envisioned gold bands. To me, it’s kind of an
unspoken rule…wedding bands must be gold! Well, FH has decided that
he wants silver. He has a watch that is silver & he just doesn’t want
to part with (but that’s another story!!).
He thinks we should just get mine gold & his silver, but I’m still
frowning at this idea. My poor old heart’s broken
at the thought
that we wouldn’t have the "same" ring. Are any of you getting
mis-matched bands? Any thoughts or ideas??
thanks,
Joy
